Things To Do in the Bronx This Halloween Season
From pooch parades to pumpkin carving and everything in between, there is a ton of fun things to do in the Bronx this Halloween.
With fall officially set in and the leaves on the trees beginning to change, it feels like Halloween season in the Bronx. The season brings an abundance of candy, colorful costumes and lots of family-friendly activities. See below for our list of things to do in the Bronx for Halloween.
1. 40th Annual Bronx Halloween Parade
Oct. 25, 12pm – 3pm
Westchester Avenue & Southern Boulevard
Come out to watch colorful floats, costumed groups, marching bands parade through the heart of the Bronx. There will be candy, giveaways, vendors and live performances, including Global Hitmakers, Nina Sky and Total PKG Creative Studios.
2. Halloween Night Party at Bronx Night Market
Oct. 25, 12pm – 7pm
Bronx Night Market, Fordham Plaza
The Bronx’s legendary night market takes it’s final bow this month. Show your support for the local vendors that have made this borough staple great for eight years. Enjoy food, friends and live music.
3. Boo at the Zoo
Sept. 27 – Oct. 26
Bronx Zoo, 2300 Southern Boulevard
Enjoy the spooky season with the kids at the Bronx Zoo. Boo at the Zoo has plenty of fun activities for little ones, including pumpkin carving, face painting, a costume parade and much more.
4. Giant Pumpkin Palooza Weekend
Oct. 23 – Oct. 26
New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd.
Witness Adam Bierton carve one of the largest pumpkins in the world into an organic masterpiece. Completed design will be on view during the day on Sunday, October 26.
5. Halloween Wags to Witches
Oct. 26
The Van Cortlandt House Museum, 6036 Broadway (Van Cortlandt Park)
Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, Van Cortlandt House Museum, and the Urban Park Rangers invite you to a free fang-tastic afternoon of family and doggy fun. Enjoy ready for creepy crafts, face painting, spine-chilling stories and more.
6. Wave Hill-O-Ween
Oct. 30
Wave Hill, 4900 Independence Avenue
Take the kids on an eerie treasure trail through the gardens with “gourdgeous” photo ops along the way. Decorate a mini-pumpkin to take home in between fun and imaginative garden delights.
7. Harvest Glow
Sept. 25 – Oct. 31
Bronx Zoo, 2300 Southern Boulevard
This nighttime event at the Bronx zoo offers lots of kid-friendly activities, including a dinosaur exhibit and jack-o-lantern trail. This event does not include animal exhibits. The animal exhibits close at the end of park hours.
8. George A. Romero: Stay Scared!
Exhibit Opening October 31, 2025, 6pm
Museum of Bronx History, 3266 Bainbridge Avenue
This Bronx County Historical Society exhibit highlights the life and work of George A. Romero, horror film director best known for the “Night of the Living Dead,” one of the most successful independent films of all time and the origin of the modern zombie flick. Subsequent events related to Romero’s life will take place at Edgar Allan Poe Cottage and The Bronx Music Hall.
9. Disney Tim Burton’s the Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail
Sept. 25 – Nov. 30, Wed. through Sun.
New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd.
Stroll through the moonlit magic of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail at the New York Botanical Garden. Join Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero for a frightfully fun frolic through the world of the beloved film, now featuring even more of your favorite characters, scenes, and songs.
