Bronx Community Board Applications Open Now
The Bronx Borough President is accepting applications for the local community boards, but the deadline is coming up soon!
Residents of the Bronx now have an opportunity to play a direct role in shaping their neighborhoods, as applications are officially open for positions on local community boards. Bronx community Board applications can be found here.
Community boards are volunteer-based advisory bodies that represent the interests of their districts on a wide range of issues, including land use and zoning, public safety, sanitation, housing, parks, and local services. Board members review proposals, hold public hearings, and serve as a key link between residents, city agencies, and elected officials.
Bronx residents who are at least 16 years old and live, work, or have a significant connection to a community board district are eligible to apply. No prior experience is required, and the application process is open to people from all backgrounds. City officials encourage applications from individuals who reflect the borough’s diversity and who are passionate about community involvement.
Appointments are typically for two-year terms, and members are expected to attend monthly meetings and participate in committee work. While the positions are unpaid, serving on a community board offers a chance to influence local decision-making and advocate for neighborhood needs.
Applications must be submitted by the stated deadline, after which candidates will be reviewed and selected by the borough president in consultation with City Council members. The Bronx community board applications can be found here.
Residents interested in applying can find more information and access the application through the Bronx Borough President’s website or by contacting their local community board office. The deadline to apply is February 23, 2026.
