Watch Video by Bronx Rapper Accused of Shooting Jets Cornerback
Three months before the shooting, the alleged gunman appeared in a music video glorifying guns and gang violence.
The man accused of shooting Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is a 20-year-old rapper from the Bronx, the New York Post reports.
Frederick Green is charged with attempted murder, assault and weapons possession for the November 16, 2025 shooting outside the Asian fusion restaurant Sei Less in midtown Manhattan.
According to the Post, Green is a Bronx-based drill rapper who goes by the name Tbo Zay. He released a music video three months before the shooting in which he bragged about guns and violence.
The song is titled “Mission” and was uploaded to YouTube on August 21, 2025. Other music videos attributed to Tbo Zay include “TP” and “Afro Drill.” Lyrics and images in the music videos routinely reference guns and gang violence.
In “Mission,” Tbo Zay claims to shoot “like I’m Brady” and makes multiple references to pistols and Glocks. In one lyric, he claims that “I go in the Beemer and I got accurate aim,” which may reference the getaway car police say Green used to flee the November shooting.
Police allege that Green shot Boyd in the abdomen after an argument outside the restaurant. Authorities say that surveillance video captured Green leaving the scene in a white BMW. He was arrested several weeks later while hiding out at his girlfriend’s house in Buffalo, New York.
Boyd was shot in the abdomen. He was hospitalized after the shooting, but is expected to make a full recovery. He visited the Jets’ training facility a few weeks after the shooting.
Police say Green has four prior arrests related to unlawful possession of personal identification and criminal possession of a controlled substance, but most of those records are sealed.
